North London NHS Foundation Trust: Carers, Family and Friends Strategy 2025 - 2030

We've worked with our local mental health trust to put a strategy in place to give carers of service users a better experience going forward.

Deborah Jemmison, a carer from North London, worked at Healthwatch to help the North London NHS Foundation Trust produce this strategy.

The trust serves Barnet, Haringey, Enfield, Camden, and Islington. Each local authority has produced a carers strategy or action plan, and the Trust has built on these strategies to produce a strategy of its own that specifically addresses some of the issues felt by the carers of mental health service users.

Part of her role saw Deborah reach out to carers hubs, carers, and local community organisations working with residents under-represented in the Trust’s engagement, to ensure that they could contribute to the discussions and inform the strategy.
