Manor Gardens Welfare Trust

Healthwatch was commissioned by Manor Gardens Welfare Trust to provide an independent evaluation of the 'Bright Beginnings' Project.

Bright Beginnings has enabled us to make our courses more flexible, and for us to provide alternative type provision such as financial literacy workshops

Healthwatch stakeholder interview to gather feedback on wider project impacts

What we did

We evaluated Bright Beginnings on an ongoing basis throughout the project's lifecycle. We provided quarterly evaluations and a final evaluation as the project was concluding. We shared our findings at regular meetings of the project steering group.

  • We evaluated health information workshops using attendance data, as well as satisfaction questionnaires, and observations of workshops by the Healthwatch team
  • The one to one support and peer support programmes were evaluated by means of interviews with individual beneficiaries, maternity mentors, and the wider project team
  • Questionnaires using the Warwick scale were employed to measure the mental wellbeing and physical health of beneficiaries and changes over time
  • We interviewed  stakeholder organisations to collect evidence of wider impacts
