Increasing the uptake of the flu vaccination among BME communities in Islington

This event is taking place online
Wednesday 21st October, 2020 - 14:30 to 16:00

About this event

Manor Gardens Welfare Trust and Healthwatch Islington are hosting a series of online events around the flu vaccination on behalf of the North Central London healthcare commissioners. This event is the first in a series of three.

We are aware that the uptake of the flu vaccination among the BME (black and minority ethnic) community in Islington is lower than for other groups, and given existing health inequality, we want to be sure that people know what’s on offer. So these events are primarily aimed at organisations and individuals who work with and support BME residents. These events will provide you with information on the importance of the flu vaccination; provide accurate information related to vaccinations, and specifically flu vaccination, including ‘myth-busting’; and promote the availability and ways of accessing the vaccination across the borough.
