Everyone uses health and social care services at some time, whether it's a GP or dentist, pharmacy or hospital, mental health service, day centre or care home. Tell us what you think of health and social care. We're here to help make it better. We can also help you find the services you need, for you and your family.
You can talk to us if you need more information. If you would like someone to help you during the complaints process itself, or make a complaint on your behalf, we can also put you in touch with advocacy services.
Healthwatch and the National Health Service
The NHS is complicated.
From Clinical Commissioning Groups to Health and Wellbeing Boards to NHS England, it is difficult to keep track of what the different structures do, how they all work together, and where Healthwatch Islington fits in. This video from the King's Fund offers the best overview that we've seen. A captioned version is available here.
For a bit more detail A Guided Tour of the New NHS, produced by the All Party Parliamentary Health Group, is an excellent resource. All the different bodies in the new NHS are explained concisely, a page for each. This guide is the one MPs (Members of Parliament) refer to when they want to understand the health system.
